As the Nature and Human Foundation (Fundacja Przyroda i Człowiek), we have completed a number of projects in the field of nature protection. We specialize in projects related to the active protection of cultural landscapes. Recently, we have been continuing work in the field of nature protection, and we are becoming more and more involved in programs related to the protection and research of cultural heritage.

2021-2024 Active protection of the Polish population of the Ligularia sibirica species
The aim of the project is to stop the decline and improve the status of a critically endangered species of Ligularia sibirica (1758) and its humid habitats in five sites considered endangered. The planned activities of the project include the creation of a database on the current state of the population and its threats, restoration of proper habitat conditions, conducting interdisciplinary environmental monitoring, preparation of documentation of changes in natural resources along with genetic studies of the population and conducting a promotional and educational campaign to activate the local community around the problem of active protection of water-dependent habitats.
2021-2024 "The Carpathians Connect Us" - protection of the Orawa-Nowy Targ Peatlandsh
We are implementing this project as a partner of the National Foundation for Environmental Protection Centrum UNEP / GRID-Warsaw, which is the project leader. The project will be implemented in the area of the Bór na Czerwonem nature reserve (Natura 2000 refuge and Ramsar area) and the surrounding communes located in the Małopolskie Voivodeship.
2014-2021 Active protection of xerothermic grasslands on the southern slope of Góra Zborów
Active protection of nature on a patch of habitats: 6210 xerothermic grasslands and 5130 juniper thickets on the southern slope of Góra Zborów and in the Góra Zborów nature reserve.
2018-2022 Performing environmental supervision in the project "Increasing the attractiveness of the Olsztyn Castle by carrying out the necessary conservation and restoration works"
The task commissioned by the project leader - the Olsztyn Land Community Foundation - includes the necessary conservation and restoration works. The detailed scope of activities includes supervision, research and monitoring in the field of: chiropterology, ornithology, geomorphology, botany and palaeozoology.
2018-2022 Performing archaeological supervision in the project "Increasing the attractiveness of the Olsztyn Castle by carrying out the necessary conservation and restoration works"
The task commissioned by the project leader - the Olsztyn Land Community Foundation - includes the performance of archaeological rescue works, among others in the Lower Castle Cave and archaeological supervision over earthworks during the construction of a tourist route to the restored part of the castle, along with the documentation of the works.
2017 Active protection of a representative patch of xerothermic grasslands in the Ojców National Park
Active protection of a patch of xerothermic grasslands (area 1.2 ha) on the Korona Góra Mountain in the Ojców National Park, carried out by extensive grazing of a herd of sheep and goats.
2014-2015 Ecology is a tradition - workshops for children and teenagers
Workshops for primary and secondary school students in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, aimed at raising awareness of the relationship between human activity and the need to protect valuable elements of nature in the Silesian Voivodeship. Students learned about the phenomena occurring in nature, the idea of sustainable development, acquired skills in recognizing flora and fauna species characteristic of the areas kept by pastoralism and the production of ecological products from wool.
2012-2013 Increasing the income of farming families and protecting natural and landscape values by restoring Olkusz sheep breeding in the territory of the Northern Jura
Coordination of activities related to the active protection and restoration of xerothermic grasslands, based on the involvement of representatives of local communities in the protection of the cultural and natural heritage of the Kraków - Częstochowa Upland. The project involved the creation of small herds of Olkusz sheep in places with special landscape values, along with training, the purchase of pasture accessories, feed additives and publications promoting cultural heritage related to pastoralism.
